About Us

I grew up in New Castle. When I was 13, 14 and 15 during the summer months my parents, sister, and I stayed in a one room, no water, no bath room cottage at the Eintracht Sining Society Pinic grounds.  The Picnic Grounds is on the Neshannock Creek. My days were spent swimming, fishing and playing in the the Neshannock Creek. Ever since it has been my lifelong dream to build a log cabin on the Neshannock Creek. In October of 2000 I did it. The cabin is not big. It is only 20' by 28'. But it has all the essentials you will need. It is made of manufactred logs by Beaver Mountain Log Homes from Handcock, New York. The logs are 8" on each side. The inside, top and bottom sides are flat where the outside of the logs are rounded. Art in the cabin is the work of my wife Judy Hazen. All art is for sale. Ron had a heart attack and died on New Years Day 2018. Bill is continuing to operate the Creekside Cabin.

On the first floor of the cabin is a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area. There is a queen sized bed in the bedroom. The kitchen is full equiped with a counter area for eating. The bathroom has a shower. Upstairs is the loft. There are  twin beds up there. The is a wood burning stove in the living area. Heat is from electric baseboard. The cabin has TV, via Dish Network with Pittsburgh local stations. There is no telephone and cell reception is iffy. There is a Bose radio, a stereo system capable of playing CDs or tape cassettes as well as AM and FM radio stations. There is a DVD player for playing movies. The cabin has two decks. One in the front is the smaller of the two. The back deck is bigger and overlooks the Neshannock Creek.
